What is self-care?

Self-care is a conscious approach to take care of ourselves, our mind, body and health. Self-care is important and it's under our own control so we should never ignore this.  Taking time out for your ownself is self-care.  The idea and way of doing it can be different as we all anjoy and fell happy about different elements in our life.

Why we ignore self-care?

We are busy in our daily schedules and goals, there are targets to be achieved in all this we forget to take care of ourselves. Yes, it happens more with women because in most cases they have to master the art of managing professional, personal and family; life. So they are not able to take good care of themselves. But this doesn’t mean that men are taking good care of themselves they are also struggling, struggling to compete and grow, struggling to survive and bearing the pressure of life which has become very demanding otherwise you can say that “ we have made our so demanding that we don’t care about ourselves”.  There is a total imbalance between this demand and supply. You need to master this art and take time for self-care. Learn to be minimalistic in material life you will strike the balance.

Examples of self-care:

  • Meditation
  • Following your unfulfilled passion in free time e.g playing the piano
  • Dressing yourself according to your choice is self-care.
  • Grooming yourself
  • Don't forget to sleep right it's a very important example of self-care
You should know that self-care isn’t a one day one time or Bucket list goal which strikes and it’s done for life. It’s a compilation of small-small things that you do daily and it becomes your habit the habit that you love and others get inspired from it. These small moves relax you emotionally, physically, mentally and maybe sometimes spiritually also.

Tips on self-care:

1.       Give some attention to your body, mind, and soul often. Start practicing this unless it becomes a habit that you love doing.
2.       Recycle stuff from your personal wardrobe that you don’t love and it’s been sitting there. You will feel better.
3.       Remove/mute friends and followers from your social media who are nagging you or giving negative criticism.
4.       Take out some me time and all electronic devices are a big no at this time. As these are the ones that don’t let you strike that peace in you with the constant buzz from emails, calls and social media feed. Relax your mind soothe yourself.
5.        Don’t’ think that if I go unplugged for some time in 24 hours I will loose on finances for any reasons because it might happen before you lose your finances you will lose yourself. Take out this me-time maybe before you go to bed are just after you wake up for 30 minutes at least and calm down yourself it be sitting ideal and relaxing or yoga or meditation.

6.       Sort out things one by one especially the ones that are bogging you.
Here I would like to share that most of us want to get out of the Toxic relationship with our partner’s or family as quickly as possible and we part ways. But we don’t’ part ways with our own toxic self which we actually are most of the time. So it’s important to understand that it’s not just the negativity and toxicity of others that are harming us but at the same time we are equally responsible for our fate. The whole plight is only because we don’t take care of ourselves. We don’t focus on self-care and later on end up blaming others and demand them to take care of us.
